Summer Recreation Programs
Woodhaven's Recreation Department provides many specialty programs year-round.
Children's Day Camp
Day Camp is a structured program for children ages 6 through 12 and is available for eight weeks between June and August. Each week of the camp involves unique themes that involve all areas of recreation and all different facilities. Fees are involved and participants may sign up for days at a time or for the entire eight week session. Day Camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Theme Weekends
Throughout the summer, most weekends are given themes. Activities are programmed to follow the theme of the weekend. Appropriate activities are also programmed around special holiday weekends such as Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day. Past themes include Woodhaven Woodstock, Blues Fest, Pioneer Days, Beach Bonanza, and many, many more.
Arts & Crafts
Staff craft instructors lead and assist children through more than 100 different craft activities throughout the course of the summer. Craft sessions vary in difficulty and subject and take place seven days a week throughout the summer months.
Fairs and Flea Markets
Many different vendors show their wares during Woodhaven's craft fairs and flea markets. The craft fairs and flea markets are scheduled on holiday and other special weekends throughout the summer.
Sporting Tournaments
Numerous sporting events are organized in tournament style. They include basketball, tennis, volleyball, horseshoes, fishing and more.
Movies
Family oriented movies are scheduled on weekends at dark at our outdoor amphitheater. Teen movies are shown on Wednesdays.
